If you are enrolled in a QM course or working on designing a course to meet QM standards, make an appointment when you need help with alignment, accessibility, or course design. CTI is your partner as create your online D2L classroom.

As a subject matter expert, you know what you want your students to learn. Instructional design supports you in choosing the right technologies to help students interact with the content you are teaching. For example, you may want to use Soft Chalk to develop some interactive activities, narrate a Power Point so students can review a lesson when they are absent, or make your D2L classroom resources easy for students to navigate. Whether you are want to learn basics of document design or want to learn advanced skills to use the computer more efficiently, we can help you improve the computer skills you need to build and maintain your classes. We can work on Microsoft Office, Soft Chalk, D2L, Camtasia, and other programs that will help you build your courses and make your curriculum accessible and engaging. 

Students benefit from having clear, measurable learning objectives. When you are writing your course and module objectives, be sure to:
    * Write your messages from a student perspective
    * Use action verbs (here is a list of Bloom’s Taxonomy of Measurable Verbs)

To meet QM standards, it is important to have program objectives, course objectives, and module objectives. We can create these together in an instructional design appointment.

As you are creating resources for your students, you can design with accessibility in mind. The National Center on Disability and Access to Education has one page accessibility “cheatsheets” to help anyone who is creating accessible content.

     Modules will reflect your class, but in general, there should be a module for discussion, for support, and one module per unit.
  Course Assignment and Assessment Setup
     CTI will help you with the D2L tools to build your course assignments and assessments.

     It is a good practice to set up your assignments and grades before the semester starts. CTI will help you with this process.
 Course Resource Setup
